每次回台灣的時候，都會讓我有很多的雜感，無論是看到老友們的近況，和親戚家人聚會活動，或是只是單純地在路上閒晃的所見所得，都會讓在異鄉生活的我想東想西，想著事情的緣由，想著生活的意義。這種突然間文思泉湧的思緒衝擊，會在回台灣前爆發，一直到從台灣回來後才會逐漸退散，直到下一次返台。很久以前某篇文章我曾用過這個比喻，我覺得每次搭１６個小時的飛機回台時，在飛機上黑暗空洞的時光，大腦好像在進行一種思緒記憶重組的流程，在台灣的記憶逐漸浮現，而過去一年在加拿大的記憶被擠到了下層，明明幾天前才發生的事一時卻怎麼也想不起細節，有時就好像剛從夢中醒來時，那種不確定到底是在做夢還是清醒的感覺。過去十年每年都是在年底的時候回台灣，回台灣這件事不僅僅是單純的放假回鄉出遊，而是逐漸轉變成為一個思緒心境重啟的機制，一個內化的習慣。
不過過去幾年帶小童回台灣，每次都吃足了苦頭，加上其他的原因，今年決定不回台灣了。雖然早早就做決定了，心裡已有準備，但我發現當一進入十一月底後，去年回台的記憶開始湧現，潛意識裡一直有一種「啊！我要回台灣了！」這種我無法言喻的感覺，即便我明明就知道今年沒有要回台灣了，種種跡象都可以顯示這已經是個內化的習慣了，時候到了，感覺就來了，真得是很神奇！此外讓我有些意外的是，小童似乎也有類似的感應。她雖然年紀小，也已經回過台灣３次了，不過我不覺得她真的知道我們一般「應該」是在何時回台灣，所以應該也不會有什麼「預期」。但是就在這一兩個星期她突然間很常講她要坐飛機回台灣找阿嬤，還要跟阿嬤去新加坡玩，真得是莫名其妙就跑出來的感想，所以我認為她可能也已經內化了「回台灣」這個習慣，時候到了，感覺就來了。真是有趣。不過若是沒有要回台，要怎麼解我們的鄉愁呢？
